Nature's Hidden Beauties Collection
Throughout my life, I've struggled with an inner conflict between the obvious beauty of nature and the hidden beauty that I discovered mostly during childhood. The Nature's Hidden Beauties Collection is an artistic expression that was born from my personal experience of insect phobia. Being acutely aware that my time spent in nature has marked me, I dedicated myself to studying the intricate details of the forms that once troubled my perception of beauty. This journey led me to the discovery of the fascinating complexity of insects and ultimately served as a necessary step in my personal healing process.
As I noticed that many people around me struggle with a similar conflict, I decided to reimagine the outer form of insects by using light stylization and adding gold accents. I created porcelain insects that are meant to be worn, as I believe that physical proximity will give the wearer a chance to perceive them in a different light.
To create a cohesive collection, I included floral shapes and natural structures, such as common flowers, moss, and rocks. My intention was to highlight not only the hidden beauty of nature but also the easily accessible and comfortable beauty that we may take for granted.
All of the pieces are crafted entirely by hand from porcelain and finished with pigments, lusters, and colloidal gold. Each piece is also accessorized with metal elements.
My message is simple: have the courage to take steps towards healing and look at nature from all angles, so you can restore your natural connection with the environment and fully appreciate and cherish the beauty of nature in all its forms!
